HOW TO VLR PROCESS
A visitor location register is associated to each MSC. The VLR can be associated with one or several MSCs. The VLR store data about all customer who are roaming within the location area of the MSC. The GMSC have a routing function. It is the gateway between the UMTS mobile network and external CS network such as PSTN. The SGSN and GGSN are similar respectively to MSC/VLR and GMSC, but for the PS domain.
